Mo Food Truck Fest on Sept. 19 will feature rolling chefs from around Missouri and beyond in competition, plus music and vendors.

Food trucks and foodies will gather this Sept. 19 in Springfield for the Missouri Food Truck Festival & Competition. The one-day event from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. will feature the best gourmet food trucks, carts and trailers from around the state of Missouri – and even beyond, competing for $5,000.

The most inspired street chefs can create everything from gourmet hot dogs, sandwiches, Empanadas, BBQ, Mexican & TexMex, American, Vegan, Italian, American, Seafood, Farm Raised, Asian, Latin, Mediterranean, and sweets. But of course there will also be live entertainment, crafts and vendors galore in the larg vacant field next to Springfield Expo Center on St. Louis Street.

Contest rules are as follows:

Finger Food – for best small side dish items such as, but not limited to Nachos, Fries, Egg Rolls, and other appetizer items. These items must fit in a small carry out container. First place wins cash and an appearance on Ozarks LIVE to showcase their dish.

Sweet Treats – for the best dessert dish. Desserts can be a slice of pie or cake, cupcake, tart, ice cream, sundae, and etc. This item will have to fit inside a small carry out container. 1st place wins cash and an appearance on Ozarks LIVE to showcase their dish.

Main Dish – for the best main dish. This item will be the competitors main headline dish. Burgers, Tacos, Sandwiches, and etc. This dish has to fit in a large carry out container. No sides are to be included. The item for this competition must be on the menu all day and not be over $7.00. This dish is a stand-alone item. Please put all the fixing on you dish if not on the dish will not be judged. 1st place wins cash and an appearance on Ozarks LIVE to showcase their dish.

Peoples Choice – is the biggest competition of the event. Attendees will have a chance to vote for their favorite food truck at the MO Food Truck Fest. The competitor with the most votes at the appointed time the day of the event will be the winner. (Food Truck chosen must have competed in a minimum of one category above). The winner of this will receive a $5,000 advertising contract including basic TV commercial production and an appearance on Ozarks LIVE to showcase their food truck and menu.
